WELCOME TO THE JAMBOREE TROOP 605 WEBSITE

Troop 605 is at Bush Gardens today, August 5th

Scouts return to SLC on Aug 6th - 6:19 pm - Jet Blue #87

Troop 605 at Jamboree - July 31 - Aug 3

A few final comments on our favorite events from the Jamboree from our Spartan Patrol:

Devin - "The National Guard Movie was sweet!"

Brandon - "Air Conditioning is awesome (there has been little at Jamboree)."

Stephan Peck - "My shower felt great!"

Johnny - "Miss America is a hot babe" (she spoke and sang at the Opening Arena Show - singing was better than her speech).

All Scouts - "Hey Scout Master ___, I have a question?"

Scout Masters - "Didn't you hear the answer to that questions the last five times we answered it!" (just kidding - except on some occasions).

We broke camp on Tuesday night and prepared to leave camp early Wednesday morning.  This put us in a risking position.  All tents and troop equipment were loaded onto trucks to return to SLC, and we were sleeping under the stars on plastic tarps.  The forecast had suggested we would be alright during the night ..., but it was wrong.  About 3:00 am, the military police advised all scouts that lighting, rain and wind were headed our way within the next 30 minutes.  So we quickly closed up our bags, wrapped them in plastic and moved to shelter under the large Sub-Camp 6 awnings and tents (SM Kevin had us well prepared).  We were proud of our Scouts for their organized preparation and the order in which we finished the last details so that our personal equipment stayed dry.  We finished our sleep among hundreds of Scouts in a large tent, ate a quick (cold) breakfast, and waited for our bus to arrive to take us to Williamsburg.

The hotel showers, washing machines and pool were a welcome relief after 10 days of camping.  The Scout Masters even made time for a quick visit to Colonial Williamsburg; the Scouts chose to stay at the hotel pool (wow - what a surprise).  We shared dinner and a brief awards/patch presentation tonight, and are heading to bed, as tomorrow is our day at Bush Gardens Theme Park.  This will be followed by our return to our Families on Friday.
